The Strategic Plan 2003-2007
Now we have developed a plan for the next 5 years, though the vision remains: "to use Willow Park Ecology Centre to educate and inform students and the general public in Halton Hills about ecological and environmental matters and to continue to provide a place for passive recreation for residents and visitors alike."

This vision will be realized through the following objectives:

  • Increase awareness of nature's fragility and the role humans play in its protection
  • Illustrate the interrelationships (interactions and interdependence) between man and nature,
  • Encourage people to interact positively with nature; e.g. help people learn to act in a responsible and caring way about their environment
  • Help people understand how to achieve a balance between human activity and the natural environment

Park Master Plan 1999
In 1999, a Master Plan was prepared to guide the initial construction of the Ecology Centre.

The Master Plan set the following goals:

  • Create a community facility, designed, maintained and used by a wide cross-section of the residents of the Town.
  • Create a setting to enhance outdoor education for schools in the community.
  • Create a node for the interpretation of the ecology of the Hungry Hallow Management Area.
